OLBA Novice Triple Championships in Kingston

We gained some valuable experience on the weekend in Kingston. Our Novice Men won their pool on Saturday with a 2-1 record. We lost in the quarter-final on Sunday Morning to a strong team from Lindsay who would go on to capture the gold medal. Our women were quite excited to win their third game on Saturday after dropping the first two so they did not qualify for Sunday's quarter-finals.

Here is a link to the OLBA site and results for Novice Triples followed by some photos from the weekend (click on photos to enlarge them);

The Kingston Club always seem to be in recruiting mode.
Two paramedics came to assist a Kitchener bowler in distress
and when she was stable and on her way home, the president
encouraged them to "give it a try".

Novice Singles Playdowns

It's Wilma Jilesen and Mary Kennedy going head to head to represent our club in the District Novice Singles in Stratford. Andy Davis will represent us on the men's side. Wilma came from behind to win the first game 21-19 in 26 ends. It's a best two out of three. Mary took the second game 21-11 and Wilma came back to win the third game 21-10. I have a few more photos from games two and three.

Gail Christie is the spotter.

Thanks to our volunteer officials Gail, Wayne and Andy.

That's it, Wilma takes it.

Congratulations you two and good luck in Stratford, Wilma.
